K100 starter switch???

The sun & rain have done in the plastic starter button on my '85 K100RS - just wondering if anyone knows of a salvage possiblity (any early K is the same), since the cost of a new multi-switch is 10% of the bikes value 
- motivates one to somewhat extreme alternative repair approaches!
