Gentleman Ahab

Post by Swampy »

Went for a last ride today to Toodyay before leaving for the Great Central Road and Alice Springs and return with my wife in my 4WD on Friday morning for 3 to 4 weeks.

The weather was beautiful, The roads were clear and the paddocks are still green. I was just getting off my bike at the Coco Cola Cafe for refreshments and Ahab pulled up on his TW200 hardly recognisable as a bike under a thick layer of mud and crap.

Ahab was suitably attired as the "Country Gentleman" that he is these days attired in a paint spattered T shirt, Shorts and Gumboots. :P
He was in the Hardware store, Saw me pass by and followed me to the Cafe.

Now when I called Ahab a gentleman I meant it in more ways then one............................................. He actually shouted this old bastard my refreshments, saying something about a Pensioner I think

Spent a pleasant hour chatting before Mike remounted his bike............I really don't know how he worked out which way to get on and puttered off down the road leaving a muddy trail behind him

Thanks Mike, I really appreciated your genorosity and the company. At the risk of embarrassing you I need to say that it's people like you in this club that make it as enjoyable as it is 8)

See you when I get back in a few weeks

Regards Swampy

Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

Nah. The mud dried and fell off on the trip into town.
