3 bikes all with pillion riders ventured down to the Loose Goose at Nanup via an assortment of roads in ideal weather on Friday leaving at about 12.30 and arriving at 5.30 .We settled into our accommodation and opened some beers and some red wine for a well deserved drink. It started to get colder so a fire was lit in the chalet where Tom/Marion, Gav/Lu and Bill / Doris had claimed their patch warming it up to the extent that it was too hot to stay inside so we cooked on the outside BBQ and ate on the outside veranda . It was a great meal. The stories , conversations and camaraderie made for a great night.
Nev/Terry-Anne had decided to drive their car down and after getting lost and Terr-Anne becoming overcome with car sickness Nev appeared at about 10.30 at the party chalet leaving Terry-A to recover in the second chalet. More wine was opened and Nev got into the the party spirit and it went on till the wee hours.
The next day had the party chalet slowly coming to life with Doris first up getting her coffee fix sorted. The smell of freshly brewed coffee had the rest of the crew slowly appearing. Terry-A and Nev then wandered up and we all ventured off on bikes and Terry-As' car for the 18k trip into Nanup for breakfast and to check out the food festival.
We wandered around town, had breakfast, bought some meat and vedgies for dinner , checked out the festival which we all felt was a bit low key and the bike guys decided to ride over to Caves road and visit Lu's sister and her husband . It was about 2 1/2 hr trip and we had another brilliant sojourn thru beautiful South West countryside arriving at Lu's sisters place which used to be part of a hippy commune which was sub-divided and they have built their own home on a block they purchased 14 years ago. Lu's sister baked a cake especially for our arrival and we stayed an chatted for some time. Meanwhile Nev and Terry-A had gone back to their chalet for a sleep.
Leaving Rus and Joes place we continued down Caves Rd and headed back towards the LooseGoose with rain starting to threaten. A few spits on the way and wet roads from showers that we missed earlier made the ride home a bit subdued for the big camel rides but Gav's new GS disappeared ahead as he opened it up.
Arriving back in town we replenished our grog supplies and had a repeat of the previous nights activities. The BBQ was put on by our neighbours Nev/Terry-A at their abode the party house crew having eaten and feeling tired adjourned back to the party house at 8.30. When we arrived back, some somehow got a second wind and continued to consumed much alcohol and according to Doris , talked so much complete bullshit that she somehow fell asleep even thou it was loud and incoherent and just a few feet from where she was sleeping. The participants think the reason for their behaviour may be that Lu's sister may have put something in the cake we had at her place that had now kicked in, they used to be hippies, SO

all minus Doris eventually turned in at Midnight or maybe a bit later having solved all the worlds problems.
We had a late start this morning with Doris not being as successful in getting the crew up with her coffee brew as the previous morning. Something to do with the alcohol consumption may-be
We had got the news about the hailstorm and destructive weather in Perth so there was some concern on my part for our cars that I had left in the open driveway which thankfully seemed to be ok when checked on our return.
Breakfast saw Nev/Terry-A heading home in the car and the bike riders going to a cafe for a feed and to put together a plan for the return trip that looked like it was going to be a wet one.
Gav an Tom decided they didn't mind too much about about the weather and decided to do some more scenic touring while myself knowing how volatile Doris can become when she becomes cold and wet decided on the a quick dash home option. Yes we did get drenched. The rain didn't let up for over 3hrs, easing off at the Safety Bay rd turn- off with a drying off period happening as we rode into Perth.
Great trip thou and a pity a few more of our members didn't avail of the opportunity to participate in a great club ride and get together
