"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains.
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

Swum Pea

Enjoy the sunset....it should be motivation for a poem

If around October you want to climb a rock over
Pack your grips and take a trip up Ayers Rock way.
If you are seventy or twenty you'll get scenery and tranquillity
You'll remember it until you occupy an aged care facility.

Got a bit damp out at the lake........Bowe sent me a message on Saturday morning and let me know they had canned the event. Caught up with Steve and Chris in Kal and went to have a look at some great machinery, then headed back to Munty for the night, a very damp night by the way. Had a look at Mt Palmer on the way and came home today by all dirt to Brookton Highway, nice and sloppy all day.....and just for some of you....Kylie rode her Triumph Thunderbird with road tyres on all the roads and tracks that we did....I would imagine with a set of decent tyres she would make most of is feel very inadequate.

As Bully said the Centenary of Speed was cancelled on Saturday after about 15mm of rain on Friday night.
I arrived on Thursday evening so got to see all the time trials on Friday, it was brilliant with cars and bikes from the pre WW2 era including a car from Darwin and another from SA, there was also a car there that took part in the racing in 1936.
There was lots of dust, break downs, leaking oil and water all conducted under a very laid back environment, as you can imagine everyone was very disappointed with the arrival of the rain, especially Graeme Cocks who did a lot of work to make it all happen.

Anyone for Lake Gairdner Speed Week next March!!?
