Cameras
Re: Cameras
I purchased a Nikon D40 a few weeks ago off fleabay.
Here's a pic of 80 Mile Beach. No tripod, no filters and I used the auto setting - basically point, zoom & shoot. I'm pretty happy with it so far.

Cable Beach.

Re: Cameras
Hi Kev,
Bought the boss a Sony Alpha100 about a year ago with std & telephoto lenses. 10 Megapixel. good unit. Sony bought the lens technology of Minolta a few years back so it takes a pretty good shot. Even I manage to take a reasonable shot. (My wife is definately the photographer in the family).
A couple I took in Canada last year:
These are reduced to 25% to get them small enough for this thread - usually they come in around 3.5 megabytes each.
We find that the SLR is a bit of a double edged sword - takes a great photo but bulkey to lug around.
Hope this helps.
