Anyone for a dirt ride Sun
Will be bringing the Suzibeemer to Cats and would be interested in a dirt ride if anyone else would like to also head into the bush then it's on.

Re: Anyone for a dirt ride Sun
Well we had 3 takers for the brown bear ride this morning. Shane and Chris G joined me for a dirt ride thru the Perth hills. Chris and myself on Suzibeemers and Shane on his HP2.
Chris who has amazing navigational skills in this part of the woods was appointed as ride leader and took us for a 120km ride thru the State Forrest from Pickering Brook to Mundaring. As I have trouble getting my head around navigating this area I am continually amazed at Chris G 's ability to traverse this mass of tracks/roads and not get lost. Some roads that I recall the road signs were Ashton Rd, Dale Rd,Old Dale Rd, Topher Rd, Yarra Rd, Surveors Rd, Smit Rd , Drivers Rd and numerous goat tracks thru the bush.
There were no incidence s during the ride, we traveled at about 50-60 km/hr and we separated sufficiently to avoid the clouds of dust being formed from the tracks , we also stopped occasionally for short breaks and a chin wag.
Sitting having the mandatory BMWMCCWA lattes at Dome Mundaring following the ride , Chris and Shane W scored it as a 4 out of 10 difficulty ride. I scored it at about 6 as some of the soft patches and loose gravel raised a little cold sweat on a few occasions. We all agreed it was quite satisfying overall. The heat wasn't as bad as was expected and the bush still looks great. I'm off to have a shower and remove the red dust that is covering me put my feet up and have a beer for the rest of the day.
Another great day in Perth

Bugger
Was looking forward to a dirt ride ,ended up 330 am start pick up brother wait for his partner drive to Mandurah wade around in hip deep water in the semi darkness watching sunrise for a hour or so then drive home
Total score 4 crabs
of which I caught none
Bill I think you summed up a very important part of dirt riding or even crabbing shower ,feet up and cold beer.

My relatives went crabbing at Mandurah early this morning.
Just about the eat the 4 fresh crabs that came my way after all I did was ride a few hundred Ks with BMW Club Members in the opposite direction.
Things come to he who waits.

Re: Anyone for a dirt ride Sun
Funny enough me and my wife camped just south of Mandurah for the weekend, I did a bit of crabbing last night once it was dark, got 5 good sized ones and through back about 8 undersized, in water no deeper than knee high.
Great fun.
