What do you do when it is forecast to be 40 degrees in the Camelbak?
You leave early for a short ride on shaded roads and have a long hydration break.
Swampy, Wes, Chris and Beck, Bill and Trish, Dinga and Dad, Drew, Karl, Peter 2V and Bozo aboard a menagerie of bikes headed up Lesmurdie Hill, through Bickley Valley, past Mundaring Weir, past the Dome Coffee Shop in Mundaring (to the chagrin of latte loving riders for whom Sunday is a caffeinated continuum), through Stoneville, Alice Road, Bunning Road to the Inthanoona Road shortcut to Toodyay Road and its sweeping bends.
Bozo got lost in the Crest Rd cul de sac but the riders soon reformed and headed down Berry Road to the Lancewood Road Woops followed by a pleasant half hour - resort style - at Chris and Becks sipping coffee and quaffing iced drinks.
It is amazing how welcome it is to put on your motorcycle jacket when it has been hung in air conditioning.
Great to get out even for a short ride...shame Swampy took Baby Blue and went home.
Thanks Chris and Beck for your spontaneous hospitality.

Sorry to miss the majority of the ride Bozo,The early part was refreshing but was worried baby blue might get heat stroke when the temp started to climb.

Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."
