A very small group braved the cold and showery conditions for breakfast at Catalano's today with only Cookie, Koos, Bozo, Drew and Dinga forming up for the Sunday Ride.
Koos' black beauty had transformed from running like a wet lettuce to being a torpedo cutting a swathe through the wet roads without the hint of a short.
The winter route ran through Kewdale Road to the base of the Toodyay Hill then along Campersic Road. A break in the rain enabled us to see kangaroos grazing only a few metres from the edge of the road and the granite outcrops glistened like the tears on Snaga's face when he found his bike missing.
By the time we reached O'Brien Road we were down to three and almost down to two shortly after. The rain resumed when we hit Toodyay Road without sighting another motorcycle.
The Coca Cola Café was full of post Farmer's Market shoppers and our arrival dropped the average age. Perth to Perth was the main topic of discussion (that's about the guy who rode from Scotland to Tasmania) and the interesting things that can happen to bikes. A guy looking like Fidel Castro spent a lot of time looking at Dinga's bike...maybe he wanted to take it for a few revolutions.
Clear skies greeted us a we wended our way to Clackline and a brief stop for a tyre inspection at Bakers Hill. The rain hit on Burma Road and continued right the way through to Perth.
Despite the best technology we got soaked. Not sure going for a ride was the best idea today but a much better feeling than being a Geelong supporter.

Re: Where were all the Harley Riders?
Thanks for leading the ride Bozo, after leaving the 3 hearty riders heading for Toodyay, I headed west into a heavy shower as I crested Red Hill. The Streetgaurd suit earned it's keep, keeping me warm and dry
