On a brilliant Perth day, Wes, BillB + Doris, Prof Distu + Bec, Kim and Bozo headed north to check out the wildflowers.
The ride was eventful before we left the Metro Area with a large catamaran having floated itself in Kewdale Road and taken out a traffic light and a high wide load pilot playing who is going to blink first by slewing onto the road in front of Bozo.
The Chittering Valley was stunning but the Leschenaultia patchy and the underwhelmed Septet consoled themselves with bakery items at Bindoon.
A stop at Wannamal turned up Donkey Orchids, Cowslip Orchards and a swathe of Potato Orchids. There were also climbing sundews and Dampiera. A quick trip up the road to Mogumber and Doris found a stunning Splendid White Spider Orchard. A pleasant twisting ride along Yarwindah Road brought us to New Norcia for lunch. From New Norcia to Bindoon there were extensive clumps of Leschenaultia. A quick stop to buy local produce then off home.
A most enjoyable day with a wide range of discussion from getting off a bulldozer to airline travel.
