While a large group of members were in the Perongerups nursing sore heads and upset stomachs this morning after imbibing too many "Kings Wineries" finest and topping off with some magnificient Maleeya cooking a good group also assembled at Cat's with clear heads and bright eyes (Well some of us anyway).
German Paul rocked up gingerly on his massive cruiser to a loud chorus of "Happy Birthday" of those of us assembled there.
Paul is celebrating his 74th Birthday (Oldest member in the Club) today and our singing had the effect of bringing a large smile his face. The first smile any of us have seen in a long while after his bad run of luck of 2 accidents on his bikes earlier this year with poor weather experienced in Paris and Germany on his annual sojourn to the Fatherland to top it all off.
It was great to seem him back in the saddle again and it sounds like he will be disposing of his current collection of bikes and buying BMW "S".............Please feel free to correct me if I've got my facts wrong!!
Beautiful weather again however with no ride organised everyone departed on their seperate ways only after Cat's staff started removing our tables and chairs.
A pleasant morning spent in good company discussing all the important things in life.
Cheers

"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains.
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."
