Leaf Litter ride to Toodyay

A miniscule 10 bikes turned up at Catalano's this morning...possibly there were a huge number of club members in the fun run.

Good to hear Swampy's bike is sorted and his Oggy Knobs are fitted.

Kim, Drew and Bozo travelled down the debris strewn Orrong Road to Toodyay Road then through Gidgegannup to Mayo Road. Noble Falls was a sheet of white water from the week end rain.

Mayo Road looked like a gravel road with a full covering of a mulch of leaves, twigs and bark. The first section from Toodyay Road with its tight corners and steep climb was a bit technical. We passed through a cycling event at Wooroloo and travelled via Wundowie and Bakers Hill to Clackline. The Clackline Toodyay Road also had some big branches that had been pulled/chain sawed to the road shoulders.

There were a few bikes at the Coca Cola Café where we stopped for a chat about bikes in the seventies, rust and tyre choices. On cue, a gaggle of old bikes arrived in town including a couple of BSA Goldstars, a Triumph Bonneville and a lilac BMW.

Back to Mundaring via Toodyay Road and Bunning Road. Drew got a police escort down Greenmount.

A few light showers but also a bit of blue sky. A fairly sedate trip due to the amount of leaf litter and the odd sheet of gravel washed across the road.

A refreshing short Sunday ride.....anyone for Bindi Bindi or Woop Woop next week?

Well done boys. Leony and are in Congleton, near Manchester. we've had sunny weather with a couple of light showers and a northerly breeze of about 1 knot. Oh yes, and the blackbirds are tweeting in the trees. We'll be doing a Cooks tour of Chester and surrounds, pick up my R50 tomorrow............

Boz N Bill...regarding my infected helmet this morning, sure there was a bit of an accumulation of old spit & other bacterial products there, but upon poking into the little air vent hole with my pocket knife I prised out a solid black rubbery piece of "something" casting my mind back many years I realised that it was black "Sikaflex" that I had stuffed into both holes on the right side. Reason being, over a certain speed my helmet whistled, by poking my finger around & over the various orifices of the helmet I discovered the whistling hole which I quickly dealt with upon arriving home with matching black Sikaflex, which was what gave it that slightly melted appearance. Now I guess its going to start whistling again, & I'm out of black sikaflex!
