Greetings Folks,

One of our club members, Jeff Douglas, is currently out between the MacDonnell Ranges and Alice Springs on a GSA with a broken swing-arm.

Jeff is getting a ute in the morning (Friday) from Alice Springs to bring the bike into Alice.

He is asking if anyone has any contacts in Alice where they could park up and organise repairs.

Hope you have managed to get the bike back into Alice Jeff? I am in NT, but no-where near where you are. I did have a mate in ASP up until last year when he left and went to the States to get married - and stayed there. All under control now.

Jeff (GS alloys) and Dave (GSA wired) swapped wheels so that Dave could continue onto the Savannah Way ride he had saved up for, on Jeff's now 'wire-wheeled GS'. "You're not breaking my alloy wheels!"

Jeff flew home leaving the broken GSA in the Harley shop in Alice for the repairs.

Apparently the rear lower shock absorber bolt ripped out of the single sided swing arm.

The only other story of note is that Dave's Jack Russell caused quite a stir at the Tjukayirla Roadhouse

"What you've got a pet?? You're on a motorbike??"

Said Jack Russell was apparently very pleased to see the landcruiser arrive to pick up the broken bike, and fought tooth and nail to stay inside the vehicle cabin
