Bad news v Good news

Post by Swampy »

Trying to make the most of a sunny day I took Harry for a run up to Toodyay via the Chittering Valley yesterday.

A very enjoyable run with little traffic to spoil the ride, Stopped for lunch at the Coke Museum got back on the bike to find I had a flat rear tyre. Picked up a nail or some other sharp object.

Had 3 lots of motorcyclists offering assistance in one way or the other, mostly verbally but managed to plug the damage anyway but very grateful for the offers of assistance and arrived home a bit later in the day then expected without any further issues.

That was the bad news on a tyre with only 6,000ks on it.

Good news I guess was I replaced it with a Michelin Pilot Road 4 this morning and barring any further flats will see what kind of mileage I get out of this one?

Hi Swampy. You can blame the front tyre for having flipped the nail up into the vertical position until the rear went over it. Can't blame the tyre. Michelin Pilot, however, are top tyres.

Welcome back. If you don't come to Cats with a nametag, most of us will have forgotten you

Is this your first puncture since 2012? Not bad going if it is. Good that you carry a kit

Great to hear that Harry Vincent Honda has been re-tired.

The paper this morning reported that Harry (Marsh) had got the axe...hopefully you are sticking with your Harry.

Bozo, Yes Harry has been retired and yes I'm hanging on to Harry unless Lotto comes up trumps for me but this is my 4th puncture since 2012.

Had 2 on the 1200GS and 1 on the 700GS last year so my record isn't that great. May have something to do with the Ks I clock up maybe or just bad luck?

Will also be at Cat's tomorrow complete with name tag Mr. err err Wightman was it?
