The prospect of fine weather and 25C enticed a large group fine weather riders to forgo their doona's and loved one's to assemble at Cat's this morning.
My sympathy to Eve who was short staffed at Cat's but did an excellent job of catering to the needs of the hungry hordes.
She will be absent next Sunday as she attends to what she claims will be the happiest day of her life when she gets married. I am sure all members will join me in wishing her our warmest regards and best wishes for a happy future
Bozo came and Bozo went very quietly and very discreetly to ride down to Margaret River in order to restock his cellar with a fresh supply of cheap clean skins
I was suddenly promoted from clearance duties to forward scout (right in the firing line) to lead a motley mob of misbegotten individuals on a ride in lieu of our exalted leaders presence
The ride as announced prior to departure was to take in Lesmurdie Hill, Mundaring Wier Road, Stoneville and O'Brian Rd before stopping at Gidge where some members were returning home before heading on further up the track.
All went well, even passing a Police Road Block mounted on the other side of Mundaring Wier Rd. until we came to Toodyay Road where I headed for O'Brian Rd. only to find no one behind me. Mackeral Eddy caught up with me down the track and informed me that the "Motley Mob" had mutinied and headed straight for Gidge, no doubt gasping for a Latte He then headed home.
I rejoined the group there where 2 more riders parted company looking for sustenance at the Cafe to re- energise their flagging batteries prior to heading home
Three stalwarts gathered our skirts and scooted to Toodyay. Well Done Pete and Ted
Like most weekends in fine weather the town was wall to wall motorbikes and the Coca Cola Cafe was standing room only with a long queue waiting to be served.
A stop was made at the Bakery which was much less crowded and a pleasant coffee and talk ensued upstairs as we watched a seemingly never ending stream of motorbikes idling up and down the main street.
A quick run through to Clackline followed before hitting the main drag back to town.
Thanks Pete for doing Tail End Charlie duties although it wasn't too difficult with only three of us
Hurry back Bozo..................Please!!!!!

"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains.
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

Great roll up today with ex editor Ross putting in an appearance and German Paul back riding on WA roads.
It was hard not to head south with the forecast weather.
The Margaret River Region was stunning.....little traffic on backroads, masses of hardenbergia, scarlet runner and roo paws.
Tas' Bakery at Dunsborough is still ok for pies and the wine across the region is still palatable.
Did a 650 km round trip and was farewelled from the Leschenault Inlet by six kangaroos hopping across the road. There are normally hundreds in the paddocks fronting the estuary but this is the first time I have seen them jump in front of me.
Travelled back on the Forrest Highway but traffic was at a complete stop near Goss Road. I retraced my path to Forestry Road and headed north on Government Road before cutting back on Johnston Road. There was then no northbound traffic on Forrest Highway. I came across a 4WD with a flat tyre pointing the wrong way on the side of the highway. The owner was trying to jack up the vehicle on a 20 degree cross slope. I was able to locate the damage to the tyre and plug it enabling the driver to get to inflate it and reach the new mid way service station.
Checking out back roads I discovered that the road north of Busselton via Forrest Beach is now only 2kms of gravel.
A very pleasant ride.
