Swampy
"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains.
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

Swampy picked the Wednesday weather perfectly with wind in the trees but no rain. A select crew of seven, Swampy, Steve, Ross, Eddy, Braam, Noel and Peter left Dome Mundaring promptly at 9:45am to head into them there hills. Just prior to leaving Eddy was seen doing push ups at the Dome front door to prove some point to Ross! We all got over that and headed sedately through Stoneville, Mt Helena, Chidlow and took Bailup Rd out of Wooroloo. A couple of hundred metres on Toodyay Rd had us onto Berry Rd and then O’Brien Rd with a turn off on Lancewood Rd to take us through picturesque Brigadoon onto the Great Northern Highway. There was some big horse event on in Brigadoon set amongst some high priced horse farms. I think we all agree spend money on Beemers but not on horses. We turned our brains on again as we passed through Bullsbrook to head to the ever green Chittering Valley with some wind blown branches on the road to keep us on our toes. Julimar Road was our turn off for a pleasant blast to the CC Cafe in Toodyay. We feasted on toasted sandwiches, apple pie and cookies before splitting up to head for home. Interesting that the CC Cafe had no pies, which could be a huge disaster for some club members!
Got home with no rain and we lost no one thanks to Swampy’s great TEC performance, thank you.
Another great ride!
