Miracle 1
Without our intrepid leader Bozo, still enjoying the wilds of the South Coast, we just managed to organise eight brave riders to venture forth on a high 20’s summer day! We had a new rider with us Peter, thanks for coming, joining the regulars of Kim, Rob and Trish, Ted, Paul, Chris, myself and our trusty TEC Swampy.
Headed past the airport, into Helena Valley, through Darlington, Glen Forrest, Parkerville, Gidgegannup, Brigadoon and onto the Great Northern Highway. The Chittering Valley was beautiful as usual with at least 30 emus spotted around the Keating Rd area well off the road fortunately. Back onto the GNH brought us quickly to the Bindoon Bakehaus. Spoke to a couple of Harley riders we had followed through the valley for a while and commented it was nice to be near a Harley and not be blasted by straight through exhausts. They laughed, commenting that their stereo was louder than the bike.
The Bakehaus was quieter than usual although we were a little earlier than usual. The usual banter of insults and quick returns was alive but after consuming some healthy and some not so healthy but bloody tasty food we had to make the decision how we would return to the big P.
We had all heard about Swampy’s unfortunate loss of his right rear view mirror off his RT so we decided we would head back to the scene of the crime to find the bloody thing!
So back through Chittering Valley, Julimar Rd to Toodyay and onto the Toodyay to Clackline Rd. Swampy had an idea of approx. where the mirror decided to fly off so we slowed done to a crawl all scanning the roadside and YES
Miracle 2
New Peter found the mirror! Apart from some minor plastic scratches, which Swamps famous polishing arm will soon remove, the mirror was not broken and ready for attachment back onto the RT. For sale two RT mirrors currently on route from China, please contact Swamps.
So after the elation of the find we headed to the Lakes where we said farewells and parted to find our own way home.
Thanks to Swampy for TEC duties, with nothing falling off Harry Honda, and the others for an enjoyable ride.

"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains.
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."
