Shady ride to Serperntine

Post by Bozo »

A happy crew at Catalanos today with Raider positively beaming over the new 1250 GS. His Royal Griceness was less keyed up than usual. Ted celebrated his 85th birthday. Beemer Dave and Braam were amongst the large group.

Twelve riders including the mid-octogenarian headed out. Goldie, Wightman, Beemer Dave, Rhonda, German Paul, Ted, Al, Stoy, Peter, Mike, Bozo and Swampy ascended the scarp and after a loop down Repatriation Road took the shaded Canning Road and Gardiner Road to get to Araluen. A lizard was the only traffic we encountered on Canning Dam Road and the well behaved group processed down Albany Highway to the Jarrahdale turnoff.

Lots of bikes of both sorts out enjoying the slightly cooler day. A blue wren and an aggressive group of 28 parrots greeted us at at the Serpentine Dam Kiosk. Stoy iced an injured hand whilst an incautious member contemplated repurposing Goldie's apple pie.

The bulk of the group returned via Nettleton Road to Byford to the ride conclusion.

Great to get a ride in on a hot day. Good to see Paul on a schmick looking R1150R. Thanks to Swampy for running as Tail End Charlie.

Happy Christmas to all.
