Ride Thursday 21st Feb 2019
"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains.
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

Re: Ride Thursday 21st Feb 2019
Three for today's ride. Brian/5, Peter Hermet and swampy met up with Ross and Bernadette in their tin top at the Dome Mundaring this morning for a coffee before we set off.
Settlement day for Ross at 1400 this arvo but STILL waiting for a Final Inspection with an seemingly uncooperative Agent. Good Luck Ross!!
We three took the Stoneville route to Toodyay and O'Brian road before turning into Lancewood Ave with it Double Dips. Coonamarra, Campersic, Cammargue and Cathedral roads led us onto Grt. Northern Hwy and on to Bullsbrook where we took the scenic Chittering Valley Road to Toodyay.
I decided on this particular route as Pete has been too busy to spend anytime on his R1200RT and I thought he might enjoy a few twists, turns, bends and hills.
However Pete was quite worn out by too many twists, turns, bends and hills by the time we reached Toodyay but soon boosted his energy by devouring a hearty plate of eggs, bacon and toast.
An interesting conversation quickly ensued as both Pete and Brian have a history of being involved with electronics and by the time we finished lunch my ears were humming with ohms, volts, amps with a dash of LED gobblygook buzzing around the table
We took the Clackline route back to Grt. Eastern Hwy and Brian and I parted company with Pete as he had an urgent appointment with his Grand Children to attend too!!
Brian and I took the Weir Road through the hills which bought me out onto Brookton Hwy and home by 1400hrs.
The weather was perfect for riding topping out around 28C in Toodyay and back to 25C as we neared Perth.
Thanks Pete for the company, good to see you out for a ride and Thanks to Brian for guiding me down the Brigadoon hills after I missed a turn or two on the way down to Grt. Northern Hwy. and so called civilisation
