Ride Thursday 14th March

Post by Swampy »

There will be a ride this Thursday meeting at the Dome Cafe in Kelmscott at 0900hrs for a projected departure of 0915.

Route and destination decided on day but Peter is back from the Apple Isle and may put something up for us?

Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

Re trip thought about Brookton Highway/ West Dale to Beverley for coffee and then Talbot West/Yarra/Inkpen/Burma/Bailup/Berry/Reserve to Gidgegannup Cafe for lunch then whatever. But decide on day.

Yes the “some say” are correct, thanks Brian. The GEH is the dividing line between Ascot and Redcliffe.
Addendum 2 “Shell Ascot”. Will see you there tomorrow. Noel?

Well Pete as it turned out we had a pretty cool morning and a really cool ride today.

Commiserations to those who couldn't make it to the Dome in Kelmscott this morning where "The Famous 5" met up for coffee before following Peter up the escarpment and beyond!!

Peter, Brian/5, Noel, Mackeral Eddy and Swampy headed into a fresh Easterly along Brookton Hwy towards Brookton before chucking a lefty to Beverly.
A quick stop for Noel to refuel and for others in the group to visit the local amenities after imbibing 1 coffee too many saw us on the road again.

Onto West Talbot road for a spirited run for Harry before Pete took through various side roads before briefly hitting Toodyay road before diverging onto O'Brian rd. and eventually emerging at Gidgegannup for lunch.

Stories of Tasmania and Africa with a brief mention of Brian/5 antics with a mechanical cricket in Antartica made for an entertaining hour at the Cafe.

However I was gobsmacked to find Mackeral Eddy stuck for words for a change as as the others in the group took centre stage!!

The group then split to make their way home after a great ride with some entertaining company.

Thank You Pete for taking the lead today allowing me to relax at the back in my preferred position!!
