No Swampy ride this week

Post by Swampy »

No Swampy ride this week as habitating in the Northern sand dune country for a while!

I'm sure some likely lad will take up the reins though so keep your eyes open for any developments.

Swampy
"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains.
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

I can be waiting at the IGA, Serpentine, for the usual mob, which, if leaves Dome at 9,30 could be expected to arrive in Serpentine after 10.00am. Then we can proceed to Bunbury, or similar destination.

John sounds like a Thursday Ride plan. So the rest of the “ usual mob “ can meet at the Kelmscott Dome at 8:45am for a prompt 9:00am departure. For some we”ll meet at Shell Ascot at 8:00am to motor down to Kelmscott Dome.

Three of us Peter, Ross & Brian started out from the Ascot Shell for the Kelmscott Dome.
After a coffee in the rear veranda we then decided to depart. A check at the front found Steve was found wondering why he was all alone.
Four now headed to Serpentine to catch up with John passing the lead on to him. The route out was winding down to Hopeland Rd then through Pinjarra to Coolup. It was then via Old Bunbury road ending up at the Crooked Carrot in Myalup for lunch.

We decided to be patriotic so consumed our coat of arm ordering Emu & Kangaroo pies. Ross required more local flavouring so added a few bush flies to compliment the bush tomatoes. A photo was taken for Facebook. Steve then departed to catch with friends in Australind so it was down to four to zig zag home via Yarloop and Mandurah.

On the way we had pleasant history stop at Island Point. Peter and Brian ensured the drizzle ended by donning water proofs. It was then along the scenic drive over the Burswood to Mandurah.

John headed home up the coast with the remainder turning off up Pinjarra road to return via Hopeland Road and join the traffic on Tonkin Hwy.

Thanks guys a great day
