Jurien Jaunt: July 20, 2019 + PIX
Ross A & Clayton have locked in a date for the Jurien Jaunt, Saturday 20th July.
Details for Geraldton & Wanneroo start points to be advised in due course - The plan is for both metro and Geraldton groups to get on the road around 8am and take a 250 - 300 km route from North and South, and arrive in Jurien Bay around the same time for lunch and fellowship.
There may a be an added bonus after lunch for those partaking in the ride - Clayton will confirm later this week.
Some riders will return to home on Saturday, however there are several options for accommodation and camping grounds for those wishing to make a weekend out of it.
I will update as details come to hand.

Re: Jurien Jaunt - 20 July 2019
A group of miserable "Old Bastards" will be gathering at Gingers Roadhouse this Saturday morning at 0800 hrs for a departure time of 0815 when we will be taking an inland diversion route through Bindoon, Moora etc before heading for the coast and Jurien Bay to meet up with the other groups around 1100hrs.
We are doing this so as to avoid the Saturday morning traffic congestion on the Freeway and Wanneroo Road.
There are currently 4 of us taking this option, all our welcome to join us but it would be good to know if you interested so we can look out for you
Swampy
PS. Braam is unable to join us as he is preparing for a hip operation the following week on which we wish him a succesfull op and a speedy recovery
Braam I am willing to keep your engine oil warm while you are incapacitated mate

I spoke to Clayton from Geraldton today and we agreed to meet at the bakery at Jurien just down from the BP. They have a good variety of stuff there.
See you then,

Hi Swampy, the inland route sounds a good plan, how about we all start from there, Cookie, Ross... one group instead of a couple. Am thinking that it might be best to stay the night, where about's are we staying, anyone tenting? who's heading back on Sat?.... Don't forget your raincoats.

Re: Jurien Jaunt: July 20, 2019
Woke early Saturday to wet miserable weather so donned the wet weather gear and headed out to Gingers Roadhouse at 0640 arriving at Gingers at 0720 dripping wet and left Harry to drip water and road flotsam in the car park.
Poached eggs on toast and a hot flat white soon had me re energised as Wes, Ross aka Scruff, Cookie and more riders slowly rolled in for a quick break before embarking on our voyage to the Northern Sand Dune country and Jurien Bay.
Wes had planned a route for us to follow and was promptly elected ride leader, Eight of us departed a while later with Wes assuring me that the fuel remaining in my tank after my run from the green hills of the South would be plenty to see me through to Jurien.
We had a good run with slight unplanned deviations that were very cleverly and subtly disguised by Wes as being part of his route planning and intentions
Due to Wes's preponderance to deviate my fuel supply was rapidly consumed with the group eventually cruising into Jurien with Harry suffering the vapours which resulted Cookie riding rear guard protection for me in case Harry succumbed to lack of liquid hydration on the side of the road
Once Harry was suitably re hydrated with 98 octane as after all I was always taught to feed your horse first right?, I rejoined the large group of riders gathered at the local bakery with their nose bags on where the queue stretched nearly to the door with both riders and holiday makers scrambling to lay there hands on the large array of delicious pastries on offer.
I eventually managed to lay my grubby little hands on what must have been the best spud pie I have ever consumed, washed down with an equally delicious hot coffee and joined in the large gathering of riders and motorcycles that threatened to engulf the car park!!
Who ever said that this club was in danger of floundering through lack of participation, bonhomie and camaraderie must have been away with the fairies at the time as was very evident on one Saturday morning in Jurien Bay!!
1250 hrs and this large flock of the faithful were shepherded around some back streets to the home of Mr. Ian Boyd Esq. We were led into an incredible Aladdin's Cave and Wonderland of Vincent motorcycles of every type and description and a large display of equally vintage and delectable bikes of all descriptions that had all of us that laid eyes on these magnificent machines salivating and gazing with amazement at what must be the best ever private collection of bikes that I have ever seen with Mr. Boyd able to instantly give a intimate and detailed description on every single machine on is property.
It was amazing and I think we all collectively owe Mr. Boyd our heartfelt thanks for inviting and permitting us to view this outstanding display
We should also be thanking the person/s responsible for arranging with Mr. Boyd. I take my hat off to you guy/s.
The group regathered at the Bakery for afternoon tea because we could but also to replace some of the saliva most of us left on Mr. Boyd's floor
While the majority of riders soon after departed for their respective homes to the North and South 7 hardy guys remained to spend the night at the local Hotel/Motel.
Wes, Ross, Jeff on his HD, Beemer Dave, Gerry and Swampy relocated to the Motel's verandah and whiled away the afternoon spinning yarns and laughter until liquid refreshments of the amber description with a bottle of white on Jeff's menu lured us into the bar where a rowdy mob of locals and holiday makers were attempting to speak louder then their companions!!
Thirst suitably sated we all ordered meals of various descriptions and enjoyed by all as we continued drinking and debating everything and anything and from motorcycles to the moon landing well into the evening.
A enjoyable night with good company interspersed with a great deal of laughter brought the evening to a close as our rooms beckoned after a long interesting and tiring day.
We gathered again in the morning for breakfast at a local cafe, some of us at the agreed time of 0730 whilst others chose to languish in their beds until late!!....No names, No pack drill Ross
We all left to head home by differing routes with an overcast sky threatening showers. Ross was to travel with me but I left as he was getting ready, expecting him to catch up with me but that never eventuated and I arrived home in by mid day and spent the afternoon pressure cleaning, washing and scrubbing and polishing poor "Dirty Harry" back to some semblance of it's former glory
Thank you Ross A. and Clayton for organising the trip, I think we all came away with some good memories with this great club!!
