Thursday Ride September 19 from Dome Mundaring

Post by pspencer »

I was delaying posting this because of possible bad weather, but with a 70% possibility of 1mm of rain it looks like an acceptable risk to me. So 8:15 departure from Shell Ascot, corner of GEH and Fauntleroy Rd, to meet up with Swampy at 9:00 at Mundaring Dome. Destination somewhere to end up at CCC Toodyay.

Well the weather was much better than forecast with almost nil rain and sunshine but the temp did not get above 13.5 degrees C, a bit chilly. The compact group of Brian 5, Swampy and Peter met at Dome Mundaring with discussions based on Swampy’s appendix operation and Cookie’s fuel tank operation, both successful thank you.
With sun shining we headed off through Stoneville, Mt Helena, Chidlow, Wooroloo, Wundowie, Bakers Hill and Clackline to head towards Toodyay via Hoddy Well, Salt Valley, Sandplain, Folewood, River and Julimar Rds to hit the Coca Cola Cafe for warming refreshments.
The usual discussions flowed where all important problems of the world were resolved.
The group went their own way after that, with no rain encountered by Brian and myself as we glided back to the Belmont area.
Thanks guys for a great ride on a day where we could have said no ride - weather too bad! Thanks Swamps for TEC duties - once an escort always an escort!
