Swampy Ride this Thursday!!

Post by Swampy »

Peter is buzzing off to his bee Farm in the South West this week minus one of his brood who last Thursday committed suicide by stinging Ross on the tip of his nose

So there will be a ride assembling at the Dome in Mundaring this Thursday 12th March at 0845hrs.

Destination decided by majority but if all else fails I have a destination in mind

Swampy
"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains.
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

Nine club members met at the Dome in Mundaring for a coffee and chat before six left for a Swampy ride.

Brian/5 ,Ross(scruff), Nannup Nick, Digger, Ian, Steve, Eddy, Prof. Dist and Swampy blocked off the throughfare of the Dome verandah as we enjoyed a variety of refreshments before departing on our ride.

Steve, Eddy and prof. dist. watched on as Brian/5 led the group of 6 accross GEH and through a variation of back blocks before emerging at The Lakes and scooting off toward York via Talbot Road.
The group arrived intact in York before taking the back road through to Northam.

Unknown to me, Ross was experiencing an air leak on his RS and the main group headed for a servo and air pump in town whilst I made my way to the scenic drive road to Toodyay believing the main group had taken a wrong turn and would soon catch up?

I made a couple of stops to wait for the lads to find the right road but to no avail and so I headed into Toodyay on my lonesome!

The main group arrived around 10 minutes later as I was sitting down to a fresh coffee and had soon ordered a variety of different meals and drinks.

Ross was a little concerned about his air leak so made a "bee" line for home and his territorial bee hives

The rest of the group made their way home via Julimar rd. now with a 100kph speed limit to Chittering and Bullsbrook!!

Thanks for joining us for the ride today guys and I hope you enjoy your "damn" Dam run next Thursday lead by the indomitable Peter Spencer 8)

Looks good Digger - testing worked
Just a correcting to the speed limits - once you start to descend on Julimar the speed limit drops from 100 to 90kph all the way to Bullsbrook.
Thanks Guys a great ride.
