Looking forward to semi normal service next week and the expanded borders.
Having headed south west and south east on rides in the past two weeks it was time to go north and north east. Two groups headed out. The first including Cookie and Hermann just wanted to do the north bit and dropped away at Ellenbrook. The second comprising Ross, Emperor Eddie, Wightman, Nev, Wes, Nannup Nick, Sophie, Just John, Peter, Swampy and Bozo had deviated via Optus Stadium to get onto Great Eastern Highway and the Tonkin Highway before turning off on Gnangara Road. The group were held up in the Swan Valley with Bozo accidently engaging hillstart mode and stalling his bike. A lot of slow traffic on Cathedral Avenue so the decision was made to ascend the scarp using the Haddrill Road option. Peter Bee led the swarm of riders through the climbs, dips and turns to get back on to Campersic and Connemara Drive. A uninterrupted run along Lancewood was a contrast to the motorcycle and 4WD filled O'Brien Road. We took Reserve Road to get to a BMW packed Gidgegannup Bakery with long queues. We soldiered on to Lilydale Road to get to Chidlow which was also full of motorcycles. AAA Anthony wandered over to say hello as he was out with another group.

A simple run back to Mundaring via Sexton Street and Railway Terrace where Wes, Emperor Eddie and Ross peeled off. A very slow run past Mundaring stuck behind a group of scooters before a stop on Walnut Road to see a 300 year old jarrah tree with a hollow stump. A run down Patterson Road and Repatriation Road got us to the Bean 2 Brook Cafe for a break. Only Nev, Peter Bee and Bozo continued with the post prandial portion of the ride down Canning Road, Canning Mills Road, Brockway Road and Chevin Road.

A loop back to the Bean 2 Brook Café and the ride was over. Thanks to Wightman for the photography, Peter Bee for the Haddrill Road navigation and Swampy for running as tail end Charlie.
No COVID-19 borders were breached in the undertaking of this ride.
