I'm up for a ride if anyone else is. Meeting at the new cafe in Mundaring to depart at 9:00am if we get enough takers. Bring a map! My GPS is broke.

Despite the very short notice David met up with Brian at Ascot Shell for a Thursday ride. We met up with Nick and Ross at Mundaring Mojo for a coffee. After a discussion on ancillary outlets it was then a decision on a destination.

With some desiring to get home early the option was for a shorter ride. As it was dry ride, we decided that Bindoon Bakehaus and not Toodyay was a suitable destination. Ross with the local knowledge let us out through the usual route via Riley Rd Stoneville, Chidlow, to Wooroloo and on to Bailup Rd. It was then Brian in the lead along Toodyay, Salt Valley and Saltplain Roads. A loop along Drummondi & Stirlingia and back to Saltplain gave some magnificent valley views. It was then the usual route via River, Julimar, Chittering and Great Northern Hwy. Just for interest another loop was included via Teatree, Endeavour and Ridgetop Ramble before arriving at the Bakehaus on Grey St.

The Bakehaus was very popular with a larger crowd than expect. After refreshments we departed for home via Chittering Rd. Nick carried on to the Tonkin Hwy via Muchea. Brian, David & Ross said our goodbyes at Bullsbrook. Ross carried on directly home via Great Northern Hwy. Brian & David picked up the Tonkin Hwy via Stock Rd. It’s interesting that there is no signage at the junction of Stock West roads & Railway Parade that it has access to the Tokin Hwy.

Peter was correct that it would a good day for a ride. Great weather and some great scenery.

Thanks, guys, for your company and a very enjoyable ride.

It was an enjoyable ride, wasn't it. Thanks to Brian for leading us, not least on a couple of extra roads that turned out to be delightful.
