Today in order to avoid the crowds and vehicles making their way to York, I took a solo ride to Toodyay and was rewarded with a free second coffee from my favourite waitress, young Kelly
The roads there and back were relatively free of traffic(They all went to York) which made for a great day out on the bike in beautiful weather!!
I was home by lunch!!
The End
Swampy
"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains.
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."
Yes Scruff, I saw Bozo's report and I have no doubt it was a very enjoyable ride as most of Bozo's rides are and it was terrific that you had so many participants on today's ride
However I have an aversion to big crowds and as I was told that York was your intended destination I didn't fancy doing battle with a plethora of cars, motorbikes and cyclists clogging the highway's and byways!!
I returned home via GEH and noticed road all the way between The Lakes and Mundaring was packed in both lanes and crawling along at a snails pace like Perth's Peak Hour traffic on a Friday afternoon as it appeared every man and his dog was heading out towards York!!
So yes I missed the company of the ride group but thoroughly enjoyed the quieter roads of the route I followed
