A day of the German Variety

Post by Bozo »

A solid turn out this morning attenuated by the southern sojourn.

Rob was moving incrementally down he path of converting his 1200C Cruiser into a Cafe Racer. A nice red R100 restoration was getting attention as was Raider of the Lost IPhone's R18.

Seven souls embarked on a run to link up with the Mercedes Benz Car Club's German Car Day at Dwellingup. Raider, Adrian, Just John, Guy, Ted, Peter Bee and Bozo swept the Car Club route before a stop at Serpentine Dam. After recovering from the retina damage from the early morning sun on R18 chrome we were assailed by 40 cars fitted with illegal lights and horns that responded to our cheery waves with deafening riffs or bright flashing lights. They were on the final day of the four day Variety Club Ruby Bash that had overnighted at Dwellingup. Completing Kingsbury Drive we had a slow run to Del Park before a spirited ascent into a packed Dwellingup. Positioning ourselves at the Blue Wren we were able to watch the German Car Day participants run down the main street. We eventually followed them to the Dwellingup oval and became part of the display. A run home via Hopelands Road and Kargotich Road was marked by a lot of insects and a climbing temperature to 34 degrees.

Great that Raider could join us and explain the niceties of his new toy. Thanks to Peter Bee for running as tail end Charlie.

Another great ride thanks Bozo on the first of the warm day rides this Spring. Agricultural machinery busy in the paddocks baling hay and German car fanatics busy on the Dwelly oval show off their pride and joy. Sweet day!
