Brilliant motorcycling weather saw a tenfold increase of riders turning up at Catalano's. There were visitors from the North (Clayton) and from Victoria (Rob and Danesha) as well as another R90S dropping in.
Eight riders went on a run to see if there was any wildlife left after cyclones and fires. The audit was five emus (Talbot West Road) and one bandicoot (Bickley Valley). Stoy, Rocket Rod Peter, new member Ken, Ted, Rainer, HRH Nadia, Peter Bee and Bozo threaded their way through the cyclist infected hills via the Bickley Valley and Mundaring Weir to get to the Lakes where HRH Nadia (Haulpak Regional Handler) cut her ride short to get ready for her Tropicana sojourn. We had lost the Hayabusa riding Rocket Rod Peter at Mundaring reducing the group to six.
A magic run down Talbot West Road was severely impacted by speed restrictions for a major controlled burn. Taking the Top Beverley Road we filtered through York and Spencers Brook before turning back along Trimmer Road and taking Eadine Road to get to Bakers Hill (before 12). Diesel in petrol engines and petrol in diesel engines was an expansive and expensive topic of discussion.
The run home via Wundowie, Wooroloo and Mount Helena was slowed by road works.
Good group that travelled safely and expediently without any dramas. Thanks to Peter Bee for being tail end Charlie.
