See you there!!

Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

Peter, Robbie & Brian meet up at Ascot Shell . While having a coffee we saw Wes cruising past. It was the usual ratrun through Helena Valley and Darlington to the Mundaring Dome which has now been reopened.

Already settled in the Dome, some having breakfast, were Wes, Swampy, Steve & Vic. No one came up with an alternative to Peter’s original suggestion of the Greenhills Hotel . After the usual banter and a discussion with a Ducati rider looking for some dirt roads six of us departed for Greenhills. Steve had other things to do so did not join us. The route out was via Parkerville, Hidden Valley to Roland onto Toodyay Rd. Then along O’Brien Road, Copely Dale and Berry roads. Then down Bailup and Burma, through Wundowie, down Coates to Gt Eastern Hwy. Then down Oyston, Inkpen, Yarra, Talbot and Knots into York. From York it was out via Quairading-York road onto Greenhills.

Talbot road had more than the usual numbers of emus. I count 17 in the second group, at least they stayed away from the road.
Fish & Chip was the preferred order for lunch., very pleasant sitting in the sun on the veranda. For the ride home there it was every direction except east. I went North, Peter headed south and the remainder went west via York.

I initially followed Peter south to the Quairading-York Rd then zig zagged north to Quellington Rd via Corner Well, Doodenanning, Cameron and Sees Roads. Up the Northam-York road to the cross the Avon river on Wilberforce Rd. Then it was Hamersley Siding, Waterfall and Mokine Roads. Then it sealed roads home via Clackline, Bakers Hill then down Coates Rd for the ratrun home through Wooroloo, Chidlow, Parkerville and the National Park. It turned out a bit more dirt than original anticipated however most of it relatively was smooth. Arrive home with only 20km’s fuel remaining after 353kms.

Thanks guys for your company, it was an perfect day for a ride,
Brian

Damm B5 that is an excellent ride report, thank you. Yes great to see the regulars joining us on another fine riding day. After going back to Dome Mundaring, I had forgotten how noisy it is, so I’ll vote to stay in the quieter, quainter, better eye candy Mojos.
Thanks to all for another very pleasant Thursday ride and to Swampy for remarkable TEC action. Thanks again B5 for the ride report. I’ll be driving back from our down south visit next Thursday so enjoy it. 8)
