The destination for today’s ride from Mojo’s was Greenhills Tavern. Brian/5 took the lead with Peter-B, MM Mark, Nick, Robbie, Bill & Swampy (TEC ) all willing to be lead astray. Initially the route was to be the usual rat-run through Stoneville, Chidlow, Wooroloo, Wundowie to exit via Coates Rd. A loop up via Mayo, Toodyay, Bailup and Burma roads got us back on track going through Wundowie. Then on via Oyston, Inkpen to end up on Talbot W Roads.

There were smoke warnings with a burn off starting near the junction off Yarra and Talbot W Roads. The fire brigade was ready to have eyes in the sky with a helicopter ready in paddock off Talbot Rd. We carried on though Beverley and up to Mawson before turn back down towards York. Arriving at Greenhills just before noon so we only had a short wait before ordering.

On the way home the fire had really taken off with solid plume of smoke visible from quite a distance.

After lunch and refreshments, we headed home through York. Most took the most direct route home but Brian/5, MM Mark and Peter B extended the ride by going up through Spencers Brook, Clackline, Bakers Hill before turning down Coates for the rat-run home carrying on through Parkerville and the JF National Park. To view a structural failure on Lloyd St in Hazelmere we turn down Scott St to go home via Helena Valley and Bushmead Roads.

Thanks all any enjoyable days riding & company
Brian

Thanks B5 for leading and reporting on another imaginative ride. No new roads but strung together very nicely and of course great weather and superb company. You question on rides like that that life is hard but someone has to do it

Running out of options, definitely could find more interesting roads that most have not travelled but the road surface would not be suitable for all.
Always willing to let someone else to find new and interesting routes

Doesn't matter if it's old roads your riding or new roads, it's just nice to get out riding in good company regardless.:)
