Cat's Revisited

Post by Swampy »

Vittorio's aptly named " Inglorious Bastardo's", Well four of them anyway returned to Catalano's this morning to rejoin the mob after a lengthy separation on a rather nippy cold morning.

It was nice to receive a nice warm welcome back from both club members and the serve girls as we assumed our old posi at the tables!!

A pretty good crowd rolled up despite the cold but Bozo was listed as MIA, Probably skedaddled up north to some winter warmth!!

Peter arranged a ride down to the south of Perth in his absence and led a group of 5-6 on a ride!!

Meanwhile, Scruff took the lead for four also ran's, Sophie, Wes and me to a town Northeast of the city, Vittorio had family commitments and buzzed off home.
A very interesting run up the scarp and through the hills to O'Brian road before we cruised into a very quiet Toodyay!!

People must be feeling the pinch with the high fuel prices and are forgoing weekend country visits in an endeavour to save a few dollars!!

Returned home around 1400 after a very pleasant run in the sun-soaked verdant green countryside!!

Thanks, Scruff for taking the lead!!

Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

Yes it was great to see the majority of the Novocastrians returning to the mob. In Bozo’s absence I suggested a ride through the Darling Range with the goal the Pinjarra Bakery in Waroona. No objections so it was Rainer, Water Mark, Paul, Goldie, Kim and MM Mark that followed me via our standard route Orrong, Welshpool East, Canning, Gairdner and past Canning Dam to hit the Albany Hwy and verge off to Jarrahdale. Kim departed the group.
The weather was fine but cold, with 5 degrees near the Dam. Past Serpentine Dam onto the SWH for a short run to Del Park and into a busy Dwellingup. The Nangas were at their best with little traffic.
The table outside the Pinjarra Bakery in Waroona was ours with the warming sunshine very welcome. Great food, drinks, company, sunshine a perfect combination.
Following lunch Goldie left for home with the remainder of us doing the Coronation, Dorsett, Gibbings, SWH through Pinjarra then the Lakes, Corio, Hopeland, Rapids, Lowland, Kargotich route to get onto the Tonkin and home.
Thanks to all for a great day and special thanks to MMMark for remarkable TEC duties.
See you late August after our cross Australia journey

Swampy and Peter

Doing RAT tests not road trips.

Great that a ride went ahead.
