Weather be damned - weird choice of words for a trip to Mundaring even though a weir is a dam.
Great there is another ride in the pipeline. With climate change we may have to "sally" up the scarp. I would prefer to sally fourth tomorrow.
Hope to be there.

Re: Thursday October 17 MOJOS MUNDARING
Depending which app was used there were several versions on how much rain was predicted. The riders that came from the coast to join us at Gloria Jeans Ascot had more showers than those further inland. The gamble to go without waterproofs proved to be the correct choice. The numbers starting from Ascot is now building strength. Anthony decided to go direct to Mojos, with the remaining six followed B5 for the usual Helena Valley run. Just to throw in a variable we looped around Glen Forrest Primary School before returning back onto Thomas Rd.
At Mojos we were joined by F-Ross and N-Nick.
Mick missed the start due to a slow leak caused by a nail,
Peter-B ducked taking the lead so it was left to B5 to lead the group out to Quairading through Wooroloo, down to the GEHwy via Linley Valley road before turning north after Bakers Hill.
The short section on Chitty Rd is still not sealed. Then the enjoyable Salt Valley and Katrine roads, before returning to the GEHwy at Meckering.. We had a delay on Southern Brook Road while they loaded a tree after it was uprooted due to roadworks widening the road. Mick was waiting for us at Cunderdin have seen us go under him on one of the underpasses. Arriving at the Golden Grain Bakery And Café just 12.00 meant we had join the que to get served.
Some paddocks had already harvested with rows of round hay bales. and others with parked up tractors ready to start. John Deer being the most popular.
The return trip was via Beverley with a stop at The Lakes to bid our farewells. Returning to Ascot to refuel, 400km for the round trip.
Thank all, another great day out riding.

Thanks B/5 for leading us through the burbs and wheat. Easy job as TEC with the disciplined team looking out for each other, thanks.
Nice comment re the prevalence of John Deere tractors, seems like the favoured brand, but I’m still happy with my small 35hp New Holland, suits me.
