I am looking at buying another bike, it has the above pannier bags, my preference is the local Steel Ponies but...
Anyone got any thoughts / had experience with Andy Strapz bags, are they as good as anything??

Re: Andy Strapzs Explorer Pannier Bags
I have the andy strapz and they are OK. Had no problem with them.
I got the oringnal ones which are slightly bigger than the small steel ponies but not as large as the big steel ponies.
Part of the thought was if they were smaller there was less cahnce of overloading.
I also have some good quality light weight gear that packs down well so it fits in the bags.
Did 10,000km last year with them and no problems. I use the fasty straps as addtional holding straps to stop them moving around to much if you drop the bike and it helps to transfer the load to the pack frames.
I keep my sleeping gear in water proof compression sacks to ensure it dosent get wet.
Good quality materials and no problems with workmanship as yet.

Re: Andy Strapzs Explorer Pannier Bags
From what I've seen and read, apart from size choices, there's bugger all difference between the 2 brands.
If the new bike comes with Andy's, I'd save my money and stick with 'em.
I have the Andys and agree with everything boomer says... about the Andys that is
