BMW GS Safari - 2011 - Sep

Post by Digger »

After a break of one year, it looks like the GS Safari's are back on. I did the last one in 2009 (Tassie) and can thoroughly recommend them. I am not a big fan of 'packaged' tours but i had only had the bike for a few months and thought it may be a good opportunity to get to know it on roads/tracks that were tailored for such a big bike. The Safari in 2009 had 180 riders attend. This one starts in Western NSW and makes its way to the Flinders Ranges in SA and finishes near the Bight. The organisation and management of the one in 2009 was first class. Other members of the club have attended earlier Safaris...not sure what their experiences were like. There is a lot happening in the club this year (Desert Raid, Border Run plus a couple of other trips on peoples drawing boards) and it makes it difficult to determine priorities. Decisions, decsions!!! Click on the link for more info.
