11 left Catalanos
6 Brown Bears went bush
3 Black Bears went to Toodyay
My maths says that either two found the company hard to bear or are still out there trying to find 95 Ron.

Re: ANY RIDES NEXT WEEKEND?
Nice one Chris,
Maybe the two missing riders could not BEAR the thought of a trip with the "DIRT BEARS"but I would prefer to think that they are still out their looking for 95 ron.
Glad you enjoyed your run.

Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

Was it a sporadic earthing problem from laying the bike on its side that flattened the battery?
What about a ride on Scarp Road from just out of Jarradale to Del Park Road?

Anyway,

You might be Tear Bears if you keep dropping your bikes
Most problems can be solved with a suitable application of throttle!

Are you saying they are the same shape as a teddy bear or they ride like teddy bears?

Bully
Thank you for the elegant compliment.
I take it that you mean we are well proportioned and ride gracefully and with good balance.
Must fly ... my cucumber sandwiches are waiting.

Paul said lets go to Quindanning
Paul was keen to head to Quindanning and 7 other Black Bears agreed.
By the time we had left the BP Bentley we were down to 7 (due to the hazards of modern communication) who headed down the South West Highway to Nettleton Road up to Jarrahdale past Serpentine Dam and down Kingsbury Drive. A quick run up Del Park Road to Dwellingup. Another rider and his pillion desperately need a coffee and they stayed in Dwellingup. We became 6 who travelled on to Qindanning. Fortunately we just arrived ahed of 20 members of the Ulysses Club and were able to tuck in to our steak sandwiches and bacon and avocado rolls before the kitchen hit peak hour. The road to Quindanning has been upgraded but still has single lane sections. After a quick chat about the way home we opted for the Harvey Quindanning Road and the Lower Hotham Road to loop back to Boddington. Then Boddington to Bannister to meet an odd looking Alpaca called Robbo and then home.
A very pleasant ride. Only one ego got hurt and after a few practices putting the sidestand out it seemed the lateral restraint novice could manage the rest of the trip without therapy.
Tom broke in the Red Back Spider suit and fortunately did not have to test its abrasion resistance. Only a few spots of rain.
The back road to Quindanning was excellent (Harvey Quindanning Road and the Lower Hotham Road).
Thanks Paul et al.

Re: ANY RIDES NEXT WEEKEND?
Time for a ride on the slab this Sunday (as my tyres are rapidly dissappearing with all these recent offroad excursions and extended periods of verticuality whilst staying upright
)
So, any Black Bears up for a decent ride? All suggestions considered

Re: ANY RIDES NEXT WEEKEND?
Well todays ride after breakfast saw us head out from Cats dead on 0900 as suggested.
Lead by Paul (catch me if you can) Keller, our group consisted of the following BMW riders:
Paul, R1150 R
Wes, R1150 GSA
Adrian, R1200 RTSE
Kim, K1600 6TL
Terry, R1200 RT
Bill & Goris, R1200 GSA
DFS, R1100 GS
Swampy, R1200 GS
Me
On the way to Dwellingup, we took in a couple of dams and some mighty fine scenery with plenty of twisties to get some smiles on our faces. Arriving in Dwellingup and discussions "regarding speed & age"
and some lampooning about hand brakes still being on(those that were there know the story).
A delightful lunch of steak sandwich & chips washed down with another mug of coffee (still shaking as I write this) and we were entertained by the the usual continual comings and goings and a myriad of motorbike sights and sounds.
Bill and Doris went off to check out the motorbike apparel shop, Bill looking nervous as there could be some "retail therapy" about to take place
.
After lunch and a quick refuel for some, just as we pulled away, several suspicious characters known to the local sheriff, slipped into the Cafe for a well earned bite to eat after wrestling with the bars & pegs on their way to Dwellingup via the tracks & trails.
Sorry we missed you guys, but hope you had fun.
Just into Armadale with the fuel gauge blinking at me, I signalled to Swampy that I needed fuel and looking at HIS gauge we were each within 5 kays of the same before empty
Swampy and I waved our goodbyes as we peeled off for fuel at the BP.
After refueling, and desperate to unload that bloody mug of coffee I was told by the 'Lady', "I'm bursting too and anyway it's not working" Wot Thu ??.. I'm never gunna make it to Wanneroo, I'm bursting..
Anyway, that another story.
Thanks to everyone for a fun day and plenty of laughs as usual. DFS should be home by now
