Wellington Forrest March 24

Post by bowewilson@gmail.com »

For those interested, I am proposing a ride to my place down at Wellington Forrest, between Collie and Donnybrook on the weekend of the 24th of March. The farm is located at the end of Newmans Rd, which runs off South Rd, South Rd runs between Mungalup Rd and the Ferguson/ Lowden Rd Wellington Forrest. There are various ways of getting there, via Ferguson Valley, Henty Rd, Collie, Wellington Dam or Donnybrook.
Which ever way you arrive the last 5k's is gravel.
There is a toilet, shower, BBQ and limited fridge space, BYO everything.
The march flies are there in force at the moment, hopefully they will be gone by then
Let me know if your coming.

Expect us, Bowe.

Based on last year's effort I might need to pack more than 3 bottles of port.

I'm in. May think up a new route to Collie to avoid Sprocket man's corner on Nanga / Tullanullla.

Bowe

Question, have they fixed up the last 3 kms into your place???? It was scary loose last year, I'd hate to fall off before I get there

It's a great location, thanks for inviting us back

Cmon Ken, it wasn't that bad!!
In fact Bill would have thought it was great compared to some of the places you took him a while back!

I was down there last week and there was a grader working on South road, so should be OK.

March flies seem to have gone.

Leaving Friday 12h00 [Re: Wellington Forrest March 24]

Post by KoosWA »

I'm planning on leaving Friday 23rd arvo 12h00 or soon after. Have a Steercom meeting to 11:30 so probably leave realistically around 13h00.

Plan to head to Dwellingup and then hit the dirt into Lane Pool etc. Roads /tracks East of Nanga / Tullanalla Rd. Welcome suggestions or if this is in fact doable /allowable. I have tracked a route down to Tullanalla on Google Earth. The idea is to either camp in this area or head across to Lake Bockman / Logue Brook for the night.

Satruday morning head down towards Collie on the same bearing East of Tullanalla Rd.

Compadres sought & welcomed....with a sense of adventure and willing to explore...

Gidday all,
Lu and I are going to be attending and are really looking forward to a great ride down and back. Experimenting with how to load the bike up for 2, what to take etc, but with a little luck it's all under control.
We're thinking about a Saturday morning departure, meander down to Quindanning for a spot of lunch then on down to Bowes.
Cheers,
Gavin.
