Adelaide via Fraser Range

Post by Cookie »

Hello fellow riders

We are planning to leave metro area around 10am Friday 23rd, to guide Mc Farkle out to Fraser Range, camp overnight then bid him goodbye as he heads off for Adelaide, before we turn to head home.

If weather and road reports are favourable we will head out through Hyden to Norseman on gravel, then onto Fraser Range.

If there is any hesitation about conditions or we have riders who don't want to do the gravel, we will go via Coolgardie on black top all the way.

Please register your interest here or phone me, I will be down south for work Mon, Tues and returning Wednesday, ready to head off on Friday.

Regards

Thanks Bully

Firsthand knowledge is always the best, if there is any hesitation we will stay off the gravel. I eagerly await your feedback.

Report back suggests that the road has been driven on by a heavy vehicle following some rain, so there appears to be some rather deep wheels marks in the surface, the work being done out that way is on the Lake King rd.

Norseman rd is still easily ride able but be aware of the surface ( as usual) especially if on a road bike Cookie

Thanks Bully

Duly noted, also there will be rain from Cyclone over the next few days, may be easier to plan the long way around and be done with.

Hello
Looks like meet at Caltex Midvale at 10am Friday 23rd and travel by black top until near on dark, then find a camping spot.

I will be offline for a few days whilst working down south, look forward to seeing a few riders on Friday.

Hi Cookie, Add me to your riders list and I will see you at Midvale at 1000hrs Friday all going well.

PS: Had thoughts of the Wellington Forest camp next weekend but than remembered that "INTREPID KEN" alias "Cafe Ken" was going!

Kens recent "TRACK" record, 5ks of "DIRT" and the fact he mentioned at breakfast today he was looking for "SPARES" for his GS. convinced me that making sure that Mr. David Mc Farkle left our fair State was the better and safer option!!

Cheers

Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

Brian/5 and I assisted with McAdam's departure, we had a great ride out and back, covering around 1600km overnight. McAdam phoned a few minutes ago to confirm his safe arrival in Adelaide.
