BORDER RUN 2012

Post by bully1 »

OK because I'm a dumbass and this will be my first border run, what date is this years being held on ????

Main reason is that this year is one of those biggie's in the birthday area ( 21) and a very good mate of mine from Melbourne has his birthday very close to mine, sooooooooo, because both of us leave very busy lives we have agreed to meet out at the border for a couple of bevvies. We get together a couple of times a decade and reckon that this one is not to be missed.

What's the date ???

Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

Hello fellow riders

I plan to go to Border Run, leaving on Friday travelling to normal roadside camp, then onto Border Saturday, then onto Phillip Island to leave the bike with McFarkle before flying home the following weekend. The plan is to fly back in October to ride through the high country with the Victorian crew.

If anyone is interested in joining me or knows of people coming from the otherside, we can get together and make some plans.

Davey couldn't find this one, or he's full of piss and wind and needed his own thread. Personally I think it's the latter.

Will the PIG be back on the road by then Davey ?

As I was saying..........

I believe there is no accomodation left, so if you haven't already booked yours, you'll need to pack your tent!

It would be great if folk with experiences and stories from previous years would jump on and tell a few here. This would be some great reading and get the planning juices flowing.

Who's planning on going (Cookie & Brian/5 accepted)............

Hi Guys

I'll be going again and my mate from last year who rides a Suzuki boulevard 1800. He was the one telling jokes around the camp fire.

Hello Pete

There should be a good turnout again this year, finer details will emerge as event gets closer, there will definately be a group leaving early Friday heading through to camping spot same as last year.
We look forward to seeing you and the Boulevarde.

Hi Cookie

Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

I must apologise as I was sure I was going to persuade my mate to move over to BMW but he hasn't.

We will just go with the flow and tag along if that's ok.

I think there maybe someone else coming with us. Troy, he rides a triple black GS Adventure. He's just sorting a shift swap so I'll let you know by next week.

I will drag the ZX14 screaming and kicking to the border. So will be leaving Friday morning as well.

The group is growing nicely, this will be my third time on the Border Run, the last two were great outings, roadside campfire yarns are not to be missed, meeting fellow members and leap frogging other bikes along the way makes for a great few days away.

The mixture of machines at the Border makes for interesting photo's and conversations.

For those camping along the way and at the Border, it will be Cold! bring your thermals and rain suits.

I am heading on towards Melbourne on Sunday, but there will be plenty of riders heading back to Perth.
