GPS Tutorial
I have noticed in general conversations with some members that not everyone is familiar with the use of GPS. I may not be an expert, but have a reasonably good knowledge of how GPS’s operate. I am willing to conduct a GPS tutorial on Sunday 09 March 2008, commencing after the Farrell’s breakfast. I suggest we conduct the tutorial at an unpopulated area just outside of the Perth city limits. I will raise this at tomorrow night’s meeting. If you are interested in attending, then please reply to this site.
I have a Garmin Rino GPS and a zumo Navigator. These two instruments operate slightly differently to each other and I can demonstrate those differences at the tutorial. If a number of members attend the tutorial, then we would ideally require more GPS's, but lets wait and see how many attendees there will be and how many of those attendees have their own GPS before we ask for members with GPS's not attending to volunteer a GPS for the day?

Re: GPS Tutorial
I've only been to 2 meetings so don't really know anyone yet. Had meant to attend meeting tonight but work got the better of me.
Very interested to attend the tutorial especially as i am thinking of getting a rino (s) for the OCR this year. Already have a zumo 550
Noel, don't know what you have in mind as a venue but you are welcome to have it here at our property in Bakers Hill, little under an hour from Farrell's. Plenty of room, surrounded by minor roads & tracks, ok to have sit down inside if necessary & can have bbq lunch if that works out.

I attended the meeting tonight and raised the topic of holding the GPS tutorial; in fact I have only just arrived home from the meeting. I mentioned we could meet at Farrells for breakfast, go on a short ride, complete the tutorial and then have a BBQ. Do you have ESP??? A few of the members mentioned that they would be interested in attending. Given I am conducting this and as yet have not decided on a venue, I will accept your kind offer of conducting the tutorial at your property. I will PM you with my telephone number so that we can chat to organise this, rather then using posts in the Forum.
Regards Noel

Re: GPS Tutorial
Dear All
Given one member so far has signified they wish to complete the GPS tutorial, it is definately on.
Can those interested in attending, please;
RSVP TO ME BY NO LATER THAN SUNDAY 02 MARCH
This will enable the event to be planned to cater for the numbers attending.
It was mentioned at the meeting tonight that not all members have access to the internet, thus they are unable to view this forum. If any members know of a member/s in this position and feel that those member/s may wish to attend, can you please inform them of this tutorial.
Geoff, one of our intrepid Committee Members has volunteered the use of 2 GPS's for the event.

Re: GPS Tutorial
As there's a Tuning Day on Saturday the 8th March, the day before the suggested date, it could be held then. The next day could be used to try out all the newly acquired knowledge. Just a suggestion.

Re: GPS Tutorial
It has to be the 9th for me as I am not available on 8th, otherwise a good suggestion.
Re: GPS Tutorial
Bakers Hill, bbq, GPS stuff. It's all sounding good. Provided that I haven't gone mad or bush or both, I'll be a starter.
Thanks Noel for geeing this rolling.

G'day,
Sorry for the late nomination but I would like to attend. However, I will have to depart around 1130 for a prior engagement (wife's birthday lunch). I have a BMW Navigator II GPS
