Lowering R1150GS

Have just purchased second hand 2000 model, R1150GS, and love it. Want to lower it due to slight vertical challenge. Any info on lower seat (motor trimmer in Perth?) and suspension would be much appreciated. Wunderlich (Eastern States) have expensive option but I would like to try a seat before buying if possible. How do Ohlins and other after market suspension compare?
