Hopefully they'll take the detour to the south side of Lake Rason. They camped last night 5km before the turn off. Steve called me yesterday for some track details.

In Laverton.....they did travel south of Lake Rason. Me thinks shooters hut there would have been more pleasant than near Laverton tonight........

Camped just out of Laverton for the night.
Anne Beadell road was good track to the dog fence then rough as guts with corrigations to just past Emu (200k, also one of the A bomb test sites), after that to the border was varying degrees of sand and small dunes with speeds gradually increasing.
Over the border into WA and the road is better so more progress was made.
Today was a diversion around Lake Raison to Laverton, tomorrow is Kalgoorlie via the back tracks.
Mongrel Dog Productions will fill in the gaps in due course.
