Bill I know you have a sense of humour so I just have to pass this on to our members.....

I read your post and googled your new bike as I am not that familiar with the model.Below is an excerpt from the first 'google search' result on ADV Rider - I had to laugh. Looks like you and the bike are well matched.....

bmw k1200lt?
Anything bad I need to know about a 2000 K1200LT? I am aware they are porky and have poor low speed handling characteristics.

And here is the proof of the site - http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=880660

You're a brave man Bill. She might tell you to tack it back... woohoo another week on the road

Us roadies, hehe, might have to take the brides on an overnighter down south next sunny weekend. Rent a cabin or room of course. Buy me a beer and I'll tell you how much I paid for a GTL with only 9500km on the clock. You'll need to be seated. 8)

Please explain.

It's probably easier for Bill to explain having 4 bikes than the other
Most problems can be solved with a suitable application of throttle!

Imagine my surprise when I got up at Coolgardie and walked out to see Bill at the next room with his new toy! Very nice! I would've bought it too! Bill, as a point of interest, I met another guy doing a loop on one like yours in Merriden later that afternoon, 250+ Thousand K's! and he just replaced the clutch, those motors are the bomb, you'll be fine!

*(hope the tyre lasted though....)

If I could find my 99 LT, I would buy it back tomorrow, one of the best bikes I have had. But wouldn't deal with the stealership, unfortunately they have put me off ever buying a new or near new BMW again..........damn shame as the product is fantastic, just not the seller.

Well, have just refilled for the first time (457kms). Bearing in mind over half of those kms were 2up and most were 'feeling' out 160hp & 6 cyls (yeah baby), I was pleasantly surprised to get 5.3lhk.

Power AND economy... this will be a long partnership I reckon.

Jeez it was a cold ride today, lucky we had heated seats.
