I am about to buy some boots and would love to hear peoples experiences. I am not looking for the most expensive or the most technologically advanced just your stories of why certain boots are good for you. Possibly where a good place to shop might be, in your opinion. I would even love to hear that someone has a pair they would like to sell, size 9 1/2 to 10 I think.
Cheers

Re: Boots
Kev,
I have BMW boots, I think they are called santiagos. Good protection & support - i haven't had an ankle or foot injury anyway. Pretty waterproof but best part is really comfortable. My son & i walked up Uluru in them recently, & back down, & didn't notice the boots at all. best sign for footwear. Not cheap but about the market price for good boots. Get in & buy quick before new stock comes in & price is based on the "new" ozzie dollar printed on banana skins

Re: Boots
Kev, I have a pair of leather Rossi's, yes the pair I bought on e bay, they are size 11, worn 3 times, once by me for 2 minutes, they are a bit snug ( a bit like one of the ugly sisters in the Cindarella story) if the Shoe fits you can or anyone who is interested can have them for what I paid $125.00, they are really just like new, pics available.

Re: Boots
Kev, I bought some Dririder "Touring" boots at the start of winter and I have to say they're pretty good - waterproof, easy to walk around in, and the finish has stayed nice too. I have found though that the way the sole is constructed made it a bit tricky to find just the right spot on my old-school R65 footpegs. My impression is that they are built to last too. Now though, i'll need some new boots myself because these ones will simply cook me to death in summer, I think, if the last coupla days are anything to go by. RRP was $200-ish, so your friendly dealer maybe $180. Good luck!
