Suspension upgrade - XT600 (yeah, you heard me right!!!)

Post by Digger »

I have grown attached to my ex army 1991 XT600 and this will be my weapon of choice for Desert Raid this year. I should do something with the suspension prior to the trip (at least the back end). Anyone know any experts in the field of upgrades??? :P

Gday Steve.

I used Teknik for my DR and XRV. Not cheap but still very happy with the result.

You can use the 'model search' tool on their website or just call them. Be armed with all weights.

I got Russell Speak in Wangara to do the install... he is a susp guru.

I used ASR/WILBERS for the Princess XR600R.
Back and front both custom builds.
Back now has hydrulic preload adjuster as well.
Has been working well
With stiffer front end need to watch tyre pressure a bit closer but this is the same as the KTM 690 front end.
The cost was not cheap but he could give me a set up off others he had done previously as a benchmark.
Old Betsy has some one up in the northern suburbs he knows and some one in SA as well I think that are good also.

I contacted Tony just before Christmas for help with my F650 twin rear suspension. He was obliging but post Chrissy finances mean it will have to wait.
Give him a call, in Bedfordale.

Try Steve at Suzuki Joondalup
He has done the 800 for me
Most problems can be solved with a suitable application of throttle!

I thought the field may have been limited to one or two options but it looks like i have a number of leads to follow up.
Thanks to those who have offered suggestions (especially you Jono!!!)
