A small gathering were discussing a short "Bathurst Friendly" ride at Catalanos today that was somewhere near water to offset the climbing temperature.
Serpentine Dam was the choice for Kim, Karl, Swampy, David, Jack, Colin and Bozo.
The ride started with a loop through the Bickley Valley beginning at Glen Isla Road and then returning on Patterson Road.
Massive numbers of motorcyclists were out dodging the thunderstorms. We only got a few drops of rain as we were leaving Pickering Brook.
We let a large group of Ducati Club riders ahead of us at Jarrahdale and they were already queued for coffee by the time we arrived at the Dam Café.
Slant sixes, slant fours, Mcpherson's struts, Ducati brakes, skiing and sexagenarian birthdays were part of the discussion over cake, a slow cooked pie and coffee.
A quick run down Kingsbury and then home.
Another great ride through the Perth Hills decked in wildflowers.

Re: Somewhere near water
Thanks for leading another great ride today Bozo.
My apologies to all for ordering a pie with my coffee which took half an hour to arrive which delayed our departure for home. (Apart from Kim was I the only one that was hungry??)
Terrific company of riders again, We really do have some good club members.
Home by 12, Cleaned the bugs off my bike and locked it away in time to watch the Japenese Moto GP followed closely by the last 10 laps of the Bathhurst 1000.
Saving my recording of the Wallabies v Welsh game to watch later on this arvo.................NO phone calls please

"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains.
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."
