"The Loop" Update

Kununurra 32d Day 9or 10?, Hi all a day of rest so thought I might update on our trip.
Did the Great Central rd no problems, cold but no rain, Uluru and the Olgas were still there, 12.5 deg when we rode in, drizzle and 10 deg when we rode out, Did Kings Canyon and the dirt to Alice, bad road. The Tanami track was rough with deep corigations and sandy patches, I did a 25 metre Airborn display on my loaded GSA at 120klmh after dodging a bad bit and finding a worse bit, Paid $2.20 pl at Rabit Flat and $2.60 at Billaluna,Wolfe Creek, Bush camping all the way with heaps of dingo's etc.
The Road into the Bungles took us 2 hours with 5 creek crossings, 3 were over the heads of the bikes.
One of the bikes has developed a slight oil seal leak that were in the process of sorting out in Kimberlyland caravan pk, should be right in a couple of days, all up having a ball, hope it's not raining too much down in Perth..hehe.

Hi Richard,
They must have been your tracks we followed all the way up the Great Central Road.
Having a little fun on the side of the track from time to time to break up the monotony?
Sounds like the road after Yulara must have been a real challenge, fun or both.
Good to see Evelyn has not lost her sense of humour.
Interestingly two female riders made it to the inaugural Desert Raid. Perhaps next time Evelyn?

Ah, I'll be docking your pay EV, get back to work and make some more money so I can buy more useful stuff!, Paddy those tracks wern't ours, they belonged to a couple of blokes riding over to the Fink Race, we met them on the road to Kings Canyon, Our tracks were the big deep ones.
Update: The teams split up!, Dren"s bike was a bit more serious than we first thought, It's on it's way back to Perth via BMW Roadside Assistance, Shane decided to take the bitumun home, so I'm all alone in the outback!!, Camped on the crock infested Pentacost river, then did the Gibb river rd, through to Derby, then Pressed onto Broome, Couldn't get accomodation in Broome so Stayed in a Luxury Donga at Roebuck Plains Roadhouse, Now in Sunny Port Hedland for a couple of days (Watched Dixons caravan park and roadhouse burn to the ground yesterday). Heading off to Marble Bar on the Woodstock rd, Carawine Gorge and Nullagine via Skull Srings rd tomorrow then dirt to Newman, Bikes going well, managed to keep the Shiny side up so far, weathers still in the low 30's Ev, thinking about buying another bike...what do you recon??

Whats this Ïnterestingly"bit. Shouldn't be so surprised to see people of the opposite sex on the Desert Raid. After all, we all know that women can do more than two things at once, shit, even four or five things come to think of it. So, next time.....well, if Richard would actually stay home and look after his children, and put in a couple of days work at the yard, I might actually get to see the sun!! and Richard forget about a new bike, I'm still paying off the stamp duty on the last one. When are you coming home????????????????????????/ Its your turn to bring some more firewood up to the house!!

Strewth Ev, far be it for me to suggest that women are not man's equal.
Men are fire gazers, it is women as we all know that are wired to do more than one thing at a time.
No, Interestingly because no woman with dependent children made the journey. It was only women whether riding or pillion without dependent children that made it to Carnegie for the Desert Raid.
How can we support women with dependent children to also experience such an adventure?

Never seen a tripple decker sidecar Paddy.
I guess we will just have to invent a womens rally.
That would really kill our bragging rights though. My favorite sport is to sit around the fire telling lies and drinking beer. Just have to ride thousands of klicks before I feel safe doing it. Last thing I want is to be shown up by someone competent that can do 5 things at once and still look good. Maybe it should be a topic of discussion at the AGM. I'm in.

Take turns Babysitting my kids!

Actually my 4 kids are very independant even though their under 8 years of age, just dont want to be the next mum on A Current Affair who goes on holidays while locking the kids in the house and giving the excuse. "Everyone else gets four weeks holiday a year, why can't I? Anyway, enough (female) banter. This is a blokey website, for those with blokey bikes, who ride like the sun and eat gravel for breakfast. If you ride below 120 km an hour you just dont cut the mustard. Im not a man or a mouse, so I guess I'll just never get to go on a ride with the BIG GUNS. Oh, I can dream. If there's anyone out there who wants to ride with a WANNABE, give me a call.

Ha ha, now you guys know what I'm up against, Paddy, "Can of Worms" Springs to mind, any way It's good to see some lively banter going on.
Update: I'm Back in sunny Perth, Left Hedland Thursday morning after heavy rain, so heavy it closed both highways!! All that rain moved inland right where I was heading, so I took the alternative and rode the black stuff, 1000k's then 750 today, I'm over it.
Drenen's bikes on the way home via a truck, Just got a text from Shane, his bikes done the same in Broome!!, Must be the way they ride em?
All up a great ride, my bike left the Hugger mud guard on the Tanami track but thats it, will work on a full ride report in the next couple of weeks.
