2018 Camp Cook-Off WOODHILL FARM September 29-30

This year your committee has agreed to hold the camp cookoff at Denmark on a farm owned by Doris's sister on Harwood Rd which runs off the scenic Karri lined Scotdale Rd. Woodhill farm is positioned 24km from Denmark along Scotdale Rd then another 5 km on Harwood Rd, a well maintained gravel Rd. We will be organising GS and TS rides to the event. The direct route from Perth is a easy 4.5-5 hrs. There are many great dirt roads around the farm and surrounds for members to get their dirt fix.
Peter and Anne are looking forward to hosting club cookoff contestants and those just interested in visiting this great venue for our annual cookoff. The farm has toilet, shower and facilities for those that can't handle camping in a tent (Bozo?) with a number of sheltered areas including a separate dwelling to the homestead which has a number of beds. Peter has organised a nice big bonfire for us. The cookoff will be judged in a similar vane to the cookoff organised at Dryandra in 2016 with a list of criteria that either gain or lose points going towards the final winning points. For instance those woosy contestants that haven't put up a tent will lose 10 points those that put up a tent will gain 10. 30 points will go towards the judges determining the appeal, quality and nutrition of the meal. 20 points will go to the practicality of the meal as a motorbike attainable meal creation/production and 10 points will go towards the judges taste and impressions of the meal overall. We will organise our regular sponsors to donate a great range of prizes for winning first second and third on overall points. There will also be a range of other prizes as the judges feel there should be commendations that should be acknowledged. It's early days and still a bit of organising to be done. We will ramp up info on the event going closer to the event with a registration page created to indicate your attendance. Bill VP

Members please note: change of week-end that was previously advertised.
Due to a number of date clashes we have decided to run the cook- off the following week-end to what we previously advertised to now 29-30 th September.
Please earmark your calanders with the new dates for this popular club event. We ran the last years cook-off at Gabyon station out near Yalgoo which involved a memorable ride out to the event and a opportunity to experience a great country destination with other BMWMCCWA members.
Most riders enjoy a decent bike ride out into the countryside to a location where they can set up a camp and impress judges as to ones creative cooking abilities out in the never never. We intend to make this event another great ride down with dirt and tar options, tent or comfort sleeping arrangements( take note Bozo) , a panel of non-drinking unbiased upstanding citizen judges with an appreciation of camp cook-off rules and expectations and a brilliant location at Woodhill farm.
We hope partners will also participate in the club camaraderie and come along, if they don't want to pillion down they are welcome to car pool or drive themselves down but must not bring gear that may help the contestants as the contest will be run with strict judging guidelines to win the prizes.
Astute members may note the event clashes with the footy grand final. We have organised TV viewing for those that can't tear themselves away from the footy.
So your committee will be making a big effort to make the Denmark farm a memorable fun club event for members to come along and participate in.
We hope the event will be well attended by members. We usually get a number of sponsors donating very reasonable prizes for winners of the various categories that the judges will judge.
