Swampy's Solo Sojourn

Post by Swampy »

Took my fortnightly solo ride today on the White Whale which took me up Brookton Hwy and across to Mundaring via Mundaring Weir Rd. then onto Grt Eastern Hwy to The Lakes turnoff to York.

A beautiful morning for a ride, cool without any wind to speak of and very little traffic on the roads, ideal for riding.

Passed thru York and travelled onto Northam where I took the back scenic run past the old cemetry onto the Toodyay road, a lovely run spoilt only by 2 lengthy delays at traffic signals for 2 lots of Bridge works !!

Arrived in Toodyay and took time for a break for refreshments.

It was uncomfortably warm in Toodyay and the Town appeared to be deserted, Maybe people were bunkering down before the public onslaught coming up for the Towns Motorcycle and Car Day this weekend??

Now looking forward to the run up to New Norcia on Saturday. 8)

"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains.
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."
