A smaller group for the Sunday gathering today. It was up the hill at Dome with Catalano's being closed...easy for Bowe to get to with his hill climbing skill.
Good to see Richard back from his thumb injury and two of the rare HP2's.
Only two riders and a pillion headed on the Sunday ride to New Norcia. Bill+Trish and Bozo headed past the airport, trialling the Paltridge short cut, often taken by HRG. Taking the Chittering Valley Road we noticed that the 30 emus that are normally at Keating Road were much further west near Chittering Road. Motorcyclists outnumbered other drivers at the Bakehaus but we headed up Crest Hill Road, Moolabeenie Road and Wells Glover Road to get to the Moora Bindoon Road. Mogumber was deserted as we turned on to Yarwindah Road to get to New Norcia. They were expecting a mob for lunch so we decided to do a quick tour. While Bill and Trish were buying the local bread I chatted to a group of Kawasaki 1400 GTR riders who were getting anxious about their frames cracking. With a New Norcia loaf safely in Bill's top box we took a quiet Great Northern Highway to the eastern section of Wells Glover Road to do a loop to Bindoon via the Moora Bindoon Road.
Back at the Bakehaus we indulged in pies and pasties before a run back through Chittering Valley with the only surprise being a cheery wave from a police car travelling in the other direction.
Thanks to Bill and Trish for making sure no one got lost with an impressive display of being Tail End Charlie. Bill was keen to go for a ride to scrub the new tyres in on his GS.
Magic weather and little traffic made the ride very enjoyable. The country is still very dry north of Perth
