Goldie,

I will be departing early Friday and heading to Hyden bakery for breakfast. Then across to Norseman and on to Balladonia for a good barista coffee and a burger. Will collect a few cold-ones there for the evening... It would be good to see riders congregate at the western end of the 90 Mile Straight for an evening of story-telling and good company.

If you are there early please choose a spot with plenty of firewood and get a good fire going! May need to choose the S side of the road a few hundred meters E of the start of the straight. I will do just that if I get there before you.

Looking forward to the ride. See you there...

Saturday ride east to to Border Village for the usual gathering of long-distance riders. There by mid-late afternoon.

Sunday, usually leave Border Village by 5am and am home in Nedlands same-day by 8:30pm. On this occasion will likely take a casual ride through Kalgoorlie and up to Tjukayrila Roadhouse in time to be at the Desert Raid location of Empress Springs for the following Saturday.

My plans are leave home around 6am. have an early lunch in Hyden then on to Norseman and the 90 mile straight.
Do the stuff at the border and then move on to Maralinga for a guided tour on Tuesday.
Wednesday I will either come home or head for Alice Springs, I have another urge, then return via The Great Central Road.

The mighty RT will cope I'm sure, if not I will be look for a good fully decked out GS after i return.
There's a lot of back roads I wish to travel in the future.

Nursing an elbow injury so will overnight at Merridan Caravan Park on Thursday then wait at BP Southern Cross, around 9.30-10.30 in guessing.

Will be riding an F850 GSA Rallye.

Looking forward to catching up.

I will head out Thursday for an overnighter in Merridan. I’m guessing Southern Cross will be a fuel stop for most and will wait there on Friday.

I assume that riders will be through between 9.30 and 10.30 ?.

Will be riding a F850 GSA Rallye, see you then !.

The ducks are starting to line up, I should be a starter for the Border/Desert Raid combo.
Friday camp via Hyden, probably tag along with someone, then join the Moto Peleton to the border. I want to go through Rawlinna to Kalgoorlie and probably get a Donga for the night in Kal.
Any takers for Rawlinna? Just over 500kms fuel range required.
From Kal to the Raid by Wednesday. Return not planned but would like to take in Lake Ballard and be back in Perth by Friday.

I will leave from Caltex Midvale at 6.30am on Friday morning 2nd Aug, setting off with road rider group before peeling off to head for Hyden (if road reports for Hyden Norseman are not good we will stick with the black top group).

Road riders should be in Southern Cross by mid morning :)

Well guys it looks like I won't be able to make the run.
I started having chest pains on Monday, went to the hospital and their ECG showed normal.
Had a stress ECG today and after 3 mins I ended up with a positive ECG which indicates possible blocked arteries.
Tonight I will try to get admitted to hospital and get the treatment pushed along a bit that way.
An appointment on Wednesday is not good enough.

Wow that’s no good. It’s great that it’s picked up early and something can be done about it and better home than out there. In my experience of the medical fraternity you got to push the system along or you get put in the queue, all the best.

Hi Steve, hope all goes well in that regard.

I will be on the R90S (what else?)

Leaving from Rockingham puts me in a quandry, so if the Hyden-Norseman road condition is good, I will leave Hyden Friday morning at 11.30. If the road is in poor shape, I will join the lads for a slab down to Merredin and bunk up there on Thursday night. Then onto the 90 mile straight for the usual ding dong there, on Friday night, followed by a Woodstock style sleepover at the border for THE MEETING. Sunday will see me slip in with Cookie's posse to Desert Raid. Hoping to see other airheads joining the fray..............
